Former judge Manuel García-Castellón has requested to intervene in the cloaca case as a private accuser, considering that he was one of the direct victims of the maneuvers being investigated by the judiciary. García-Castellón, who left the judicial career after his retirement in September 2024, argues in a letter sent to Pedraz that he meets the necessary conditions to intervene in the procedure as a genuine victim and one of the specific and individualized targets of the strategy deployed to discredit or neutralize investigations affecting the PSOE, Moncloa, and Pedro Sánchez himself. The request of the former judge is mainly based on the statements made by the prosecutor Ignacio Stampa and the businessman Luis del Rivero before the judge Arturo Zamarriego, who investigated the cloaca and its attempts to obtain sensitive information from judges and prosecutors after a complaint from Hazte Oír. According to the investigation, Leire Díez would have maintained contacts with various people with the aim of collecting data that could later be used against those participating in procedures of special relevance to the PSOE. The letter also recalls that García-Castellón's participation in the proceedings led by Zamarriego was initially accepted and later revoked after a request from Díez's defense. That decision is currently pending resolution by Judge Pedraz.
